REPORT:
Pij won the toss and elected to field first. Pete Sheehan made a triumphant return to the team. While the pace bowlers struggled to control the swinging ball (resulting in an untidy 24 extras), the spinners (Tom, Warwick, Timmy) bowled tightly and effectively. The fielding was patchy, with a number of catches going down but some great run-outs. As always, Stevie was exceptional behind the stumps. The Blue Baggers were sailing at 88 after 2 partnerships, but the Cravesters' bowling was generally tighter the second time around, with Warwick's -11 over a highlight, and the 'Baggers could only manage a respectable 111. The chase was efficiently executed, with partnerships of 30, 31, 31 and 21 getting the Cravesters over the line with a ball to spare (the final ball was very delicately negotiated by Waz). Like last week's chase against the Lionels, the batting was very solid (almost sensible!), with all batsmen sharing the workload. A good win despite a somewhat flat performance in the field.
