REPORT:
Dan won the toss (Pij was late) and the Cravesters fielded first as usual. The Lionels were on the back foot from ball one, thanks to an excellent bowling and fielding effort from the J Craven 1st VIII, highlighted by Tom Lovell's -23 over. The Lionels managed to amass 70-odd runs (scorecard not available at time of report) with their best partnership being 38 (I think). They were never in the hunt. The Cravesters' batting was extremely solid, with all batsmen chipping in. Tim and Dietz were both unlucky not to get "Dollars" (both were well caught). The total was passed early and the final score for J Craven was around 140. The Lionels are a very good side, probably J Craven's biggest threat for the Winter 2001 crown, and this was a very encouraging victory for the team.
